Research
As an undergraduate student I mainly focused on urban economic research in tandem with a local Salt Lake City non-profit, Voices for Utah Children. Coursework here included game theory, Marxian economics, critical theory, English literature, philosophy, history, and intensive depth into macroeconomic and microeconomic theory.
As a graduate student at the University of Oklahoma I learned discipline, both literally and metaphorically. That is where I decided to hone in on contemporary art and to dedicate myself to the study of history. Coursework here included infrastructure studies, contemporary art history, digital humanities, history of technology, modern and contemporary architectural history and theory, and intensive depth into the history of science from ancient to modern times.
Within the context of design and my M.Arch degree, I never practice within a vacuum; every project includes a stringent inquiry into the surrounding context, history, society, and culture; with an everlasting desire to apply architectural theory and critique into practice. I also attempt to never follow a routine, or a style, which I believe makes the work interdisciplinary and process-oriented.
